Profile

Prof. Omali Aurelius Ojoina is an accomplished Professor of Geological sciences with bias in Environmental Hydrogeology. He has over 25 years experience in teaching and research and has published over 50 articles in highly reputable journals and databases. Prof. Omali Aurelius Ojoina is a fellow of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (NAH) and a member of Council of the Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG). He is currently the National Coordinator for the Russia-Africa consortium of the Subsoil.

List of Departments Under Faculty of Natural Sciences

The faculty of Natural sciences was established in the year 2000 and academic activities commenced the same year. It hosted nine(9) Departments until recently that it unbundled the Department of Computer science.

In 2025, following the National Universities Commission (NUC) resource verification exercise, programmes including Geophysics was approved for the department of Earth sciences while Physics and electronics and Industrial physics got approved for the department of Physics. The faculty is highly endowed with seasoned academics with over twenty-five (25) members of staff on the professorial cadre.

The departments include: Animal and Environmental Biology, Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Microbiology, Physics, Plant Science and Biotechnology and Pure and Industrial Chemistry. These Departments have undergone NUC accreditation and attained full accreditation status.
