FG PROVIDES BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PAAU
The Federal Government of Nigeria has earmarked Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) Anyigba as one of the beneficiaries of her broadband infrastructure projects.
In a letter signed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of PAAU, Prof. Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, the broadband infrastructure projects for tertiary and higher level institutions across the country is said to be in fulfillment of Digital Literacy and Skills, which is one of the pillars of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS 2020-2030) of the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, and in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision on digital economic development.

The letter also notes that the Federal Government has engaged an independent Technical Auditor to monitor and supervise the implementation to ensure proper delivery of the project.
According to the leader of the implementation team, Alhaji Mansur Tahir who doubles as the MD of International Equipment Supply Corporations, the intervention is part of the Federal Government effort to provide digital economy education to the nation through provision of broadband infrastructures to Tertiary institutions and Higher-level Institutions across the country.
On a more technical ground, the Project Manager, Abubakar Isah stated that the implementation would commence immediately and in less than 3 months, the campus of Prince Abubakar Audu University, would be fully online with internet provisions all around it. this initial phase of the provision of internet services would last for two years.
