PAAU VC CONDOLES WITH BISHOP ADAJI AND CATHOLICS OF THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY ON THE DEMISE OF REV. FR. DR. JOHN ABUH
The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, has commiserated with the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Anthony Ademu Adaji, M.S.P, and the entire catholic members of the Prince Abubakar Audu University community on the demise of Rev. Fr. Dr. John Attai Abuh, who was the Chaplain of St. Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy on the University Campus until his demise on January 11, 2024.
Speaking at the Requiem Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy, Anyigba on Thursday 18th January, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Daniel F. Atidoga admonished the Catholic worshiping community to take solace in the fact that the Late Rev Fr. Dr. John Abuh fought a good fight of faith having come for a purpose, fulfilled the purpose, and now awaiting a crown of glory.
The Vice-Chancellor remarked that the University community enjoys a beneficial relationship with the Catholic community and recounted that besides a good number of staff members who are Catholics, a number of the University staff are Catholic priests who are doing very well in the institution.
At the Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Cathedral Idah, the Vice-Chancellor who was represented by Prof. Dan Atidoga, who remarked that Fr. John’s departure is not only a profound loss to the Catholic community of the Prince Abubakar Audu University but also a sad event for the broader Christian congregation at the University.
The Vice-Chancellor prayed in solidarity with the Diocese and Catholics of the University community for the peaceful repose of the soul of the Late Rev. Fr. Dr. John Abuh.
The Bishop of Idah Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ademu Adaji, in his address, accepted with profound gratitude, the condolence message of the University Management under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche. He expressed thanks to the Management for all the pivotal role they have been playing in the Chaplaincy on campus and prayed for God’s continual blessings on the University community.
The Assistant Chaplain of St. Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy Anyigba, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Ayikoye, noted the supportive role of the University Management during the sad event of the Late Chaplain’s demise, including the provision of vehicles to convey members to the funeral ceremony. He expressed thanks to the University Management, led by Vice-Chancellor, for their show of love and support to the catholic community at all times.
