Faculty of Social Sciences Organizes Orientation Ceremony for New Students
The Faculty of Social Sciences of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, has organized an orientation ceremony for the new students admitted into various Departments of the Faculty for the 2023/24 academic session. The event which holds annually to welcome new students to the Faculty comprised orientation on the various rules and regulations guiding the students as well as an exposition of the roles and responsibilities of the students within the Faculty and in the University by extension.
The ceremony which was hosted by the faculty Dean, Prof. C.U. Idoko, had in attendance other Professors in the Faculty, the Head of the University Library, Dr. Yemi Peters, representatives of from the Security Unit, Mrs Monica Omede, Medical Director, professors and members of staff of the Faculty.
In his speech, the Dean congratulated the students and admonished them to be of good conduct, prioritize their studies above all other things and obey all rules and regulations as contained in their handbook, saying, it is a rare privilege to be admitted into the Vice-Chancellor’s Faculty.
Other speakers took turns to enlighten the new students on different subjects ranging from the use of the library, security tips within and outside the campus, medical issues and how to deal with them, academic excellence, keeping the environment clean and safe, among others.
The students could not hide their joy and anticipation for a fulfilling learning experience as evidenced in their responses and joyful echoes throughout the event.
