Faculty of Management Sciences Commissions PG Common Room
The Faculty of Management Sciences of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, under the leadership of the Faculty Dean, Professor John Alabi has commissioned her Postgraduate Students/Staff Common Room and Colloquium.
The Dean of the Faculty noted that the project is one of the Faculty’s steps toward improving the PG programme following recommendations from the 2022 PG accreditation program in the Faculty. He stated that the Project was also inspired by the Faculty’s commitment to giving PG students of the faculty a conducive and befitting environment for their academic engagements, relaxation and social interactions.
Speaking at the commissioning of the common room on 22nd February 2024, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Daniel F. Atidoga, expressed happiness over the project and the Faculty’s commitment to the growth and development of their programmes. Recounting the previous projects of the Faculty such as the solar project, ICT Lab project, the faculty library, and now a PG common room, the Vice-Chancellor recognized that the Faculty of Management Sciences has always taken the lead in initiating such projects. The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, invited other Faculties to emulate such good works and continue to work to give the students the best of experiences in their academic journey.
The Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor W.S Onogu lauded the Management of the Faculty for such a thoughtful project. He described it as a gift to the School of Postgraduate Studies, and a gesture that would enhance the quality of postgraduate programmes across the Faculty.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor John Alabi appreciated the University Management and particularly the Vice-Chancellor whom he described as “Madam Projects”, who has always created an enabling environment to function. He noted that the Vice-Chancellor and her Management Team have done this by also taking the lead in very noticeable developmental projects in the University.
Professor Alabi called on all members of the Faculty to imbibe the culture of project sustenance, diligent usage of facilities and maintenance. He also called on members of the University Community to develop an inward-looking tendency to development on campus. He mentioned that through teamwork, creativity and innovation, everyone can look into their spaces and identify what contribution they can make to complement the very good efforts of the University Management, one which he described as project-inclined and active in the all-round development of the University.
Professor Alabi added that the gesture by the Faculty of Management Sciences is an open invitation to all present and past Postgraduate students of the Faculty to think about what contributions they can make to the growth and development of their alma mater.
The commissioning of the Project was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, the Registrar, Barr. Yahaya Alilu Segun, the Head of the University Library, Dr. Yemi-Peters, the Dean of PG School, Professor W.S Onogu, Several Heads of Departments, many academic staff members of the Faculty and other Faculty Members.
